The Vulture And The Servant

The Vulture And The Servant - by Len Johnson*

While it may be your first reaction to enroll new marketers, customers or pursue bigger producers, the truth of the matter is that you should be paying your best attention to your existing marketers and customers. We talk about "relationship marketing" but few marketers understand the awesome power of that terminology.

The secret to getting sustainable repeat business and building supper size marketing groups is to follow up with every marketer and customer in your enterprise. An effective follow-up begins immediately after the enrollment or order. You should give a new person 24 to 48 hours and contact them preferably by phone just to say "welcome on board" and find out if they are pleased with their decision to join your group or with what they purchased.

We as marketers are conditioned to follow-up with prospects every 5 to 10 days before they purchase or make a decision to join our business but it is far more important to make consistent communication after they are "on our side of the fence". Not only does this type of follow-up reassure people they have made a correct decision but it also lets them know they are important to you.

In today's online world there are too many vultures setting on the power lines along the information highway just waiting to extract money from travelers. There are too many recruiters who once the have your application and money, won't contact you unless they want to sell you something else.

Be a Sponsor not a Recruiter there is a big difference. In Affiliate or Network Marketing people join because they want to earn money. That is the number one benefit they want from you and your business. The minute people feel you are more interested in making money off them than you are in helping them earn money, guess who becomes one of those vultures in their minds?

A little Bible Verse says, "A servant is worth his hire" which means when someone works for you they should be paid. But, that presupposes the person provides some service before they are paid. The entire Networking Industry is built around that premise. The more money your people earn, the more money you earn. If you serve your downline and affiliate group well by helping them build their businesses you can create an income most people only dream about.
